How Much People Earn on OnlyFans on Average

Earnings on OnlyFans look very different from what success stories show.

According to the 2024 annual report of Fenix, the company that owns OnlyFans, fans paid creators $7.2 billion, and the platform has 4.6 million creators. Divide one by the other and you get about $1,560 a year per creator account before fees, or roughly $104 a month after OnlyFans takes its 20%. This is an average across all accounts, including abandoned ones, so what an active model actually earns can differ a lot in either direction.

But that does not mean earning more is impossible. It means it will not happen without a system.

Why Average Earnings Are So Low

Most creators on OnlyFans follow the same pattern: create a profile, upload content, wait. No traffic means no subscribers. No subscribers means no income. This is not a platform problem, it is a missing marketing problem.

Creators earning $3,000+ a month all share one key difference: they either actively work on traffic themselves, or they work with a team that does it for them.

How Much OnlyFans Models Earn

A breakdown by level, based on data from Delmar CO models:

  • Beginners (0 to 3 months): $0 to 500 a month. A period of learning, setup, and first traffic experiments.
  • Stable level (3 to 6 months): $500 to 2,000 a month. A steady audience forms, conversion becomes predictable, PPV monetization starts working.
  • Professional level (6+ months with a system): $2,000 to 8,000 a month. Established traffic, a sales funnel, a team or an agency.
  • Top tier: $10,000+ a month. This is usually a combination of a large social media following and working across several platforms at once.

How to Make More Money on OnlyFans: What Drives Income

1. Traffic

This is the main lever. You can have great content and earn $200, or have average content and earn $5,000, if you have a steady incoming flow of new subscribers. Traffic decides everything.

2. Monetization

Subscription price is only part of the income. Professional models earn through PPV content (individual paid messages), tips, custom requests, and closed groups. A properly built PPV funnel often brings in more than the subscriptions themselves.

3. Audience Retention

Acquiring a subscriber is expensive. Keeping one is cheaper. In our data, models with high retention (70%+ renewals) earn steadily instead of in spikes. That comes from genuine engagement with the audience and a regular content schedule.

4. Multiple Platforms

Diversifying across platforms adds income and a safety net. Fansly, Patreon, the Pornhub Partner Program, each platform brings its own separate stream. Many of our models get 30 to 40% of their income from these additional platforms.

5. Niche

Some niches are more competitive than others. A narrow niche with a loyal audience often brings in more than a broad one with heavy competition.

Timeline to Earning

A realistic timeline for a model with no existing audience, based on the experience of Delmar CO models:

  • First two weeks: profile setup, first content, launching traffic.
  • Weeks 3 to 4: first subscribers and first sales. The numbers are small, that is normal.
  • Months 2 to 3: with the right traffic work, $1,000 to 3,000 a month. Retention starts kicking in.
  • Months 4 to 6: stabilization and growth. $3,000 to 7,000 a month for those who keep going.

Earning on OnlyFans From Russia

Since 2022, OnlyFans has paused the accounts of creators who received payouts in Russia because of sanctions on payments (as reported by Vice). So models in Russia earn through Fansly. We compare the two in our article Fansly vs OnlyFans.

Bottom Line

Platform wide averages are misleading, they include thousands of abandoned profiles and creators who never worked on traffic at all. The real ceiling for someone who works systematically is well above the average.

The main variables are traffic, monetization, and retention. All of it can be built alone, but it takes a long time. Or with a team, faster: we describe how that works in our article on OnlyFans model work.
