If you are looking for work as an OnlyFans model, you have probably seen ads like "earn $10,000 with no experience" and have no idea what to believe. Here is what the work actually looks like: what you do, what the team does, and what a normal day is like.

Working on OnlyFans: What the Work Is

An OnlyFans model is a creator who runs her own page on the platform and earns from subscriptions, paid messages and tips.

A model runs a page on the platform and creates content for it. Money comes from subscribers: monthly subscriptions, paid messages, tips and custom requests.

The content itself is roughly half the work. The other half is finding subscribers outside the platform, messaging them, pricing, sales and analytics. OnlyFans does not promote anyone on its own, subscribers have to be brought in from social media. We explain how to do it without getting banned in how to promote OnlyFans. This is exactly where most beginners give up: they upload photos and wait, and nothing happens.

Who It Suits and Who It Does Not

It suits you if:

  • you are 18 or older, the platform itself checks this against your documents
  • you are ready to shoot regularly, not just "try it once"
  • steady growth matters more to you than fast money in the first month

It does not suit you if:

  • you have no time for shoots at all: even with an agency, you are the one creating content
  • you expect guaranteed income from week one. An honest agency will not promise that
  • you are not willing to agree on boundaries and then stick to them

No experience is needed. Most models start from zero, with no audience and no knowledge of the platform.

OnlyFans Model: What the Work Is and What a Normal Day Looks Like

The answer depends on whether a model works alone or with a team. Here are three real stories.

Working Alone

American model Lauren Spencer told Business Insider (May 2024) how her work is organized. Her workday starts at 6:30 a.m. and ends at 9 p.m., seven days a week, averaging about nine hours a day. The first two hours every morning go to replying to subscribers and posting photos, videos and voice messages. The busiest time is from noon to 4 p.m.: live streams and custom videos. Her husband helps with filming and handles the camera work.

Model Alisa says something similar in an interview with Partnerkin. She sometimes hires chatters to message subscribers, and describes working without them like this: "If you work without them, you could say OnlyFans is your life."

Working With a Team

Model Sofia, in the same Partnerkin interview, describes the opposite situation. She has a team of six: her husband as manager and five chat operators (in the industry they are called chatters) who talk to subscribers on her behalf and sell her content. The chatters work in shifts, sometimes 12 hours long, and get 25% of sales on her page. About herself she says: "I don't deal with messages at all, that work is entirely on them."

The scale of this invisible work is clear from Washington Post reporter Drew Harwell's piece on the team behind one of the platform's highest-paid creators. Around two dozen people work for her. Chatters are expected to send at least 250 messages a day.

What This Means

For a model working alone, OnlyFans takes up almost all her time: shooting, messaging, sales and promotion happen every single day. A model with a team spends many times less time on it, because other people handle messaging and sales, and what is left for her is mostly content. This is exactly the part of the work an agency takes on, only at a larger scale.

How Much You Can Earn

The honest answer: it depends on your niche, how consistently you post, and how well promotion is set up. There are no guaranteed numbers, and if someone names an exact amount upfront, that is a reason to be cautious. We break down real platform statistics in our article on how much people earn on OnlyFans.

At Delmar CO, an OnlyFans agency for models, the average model earns $3,000+ a month.

It is important to understand from the start how an agency makes money. The normal model is a percentage of income, with no upfront or joining fees. The agency only earns when you earn, so it has every reason to want your page to grow.

OnlyFans Model Openings: Terms at Delmar CO

If you are comparing OnlyFans model openings, compare the terms, not the income promises. Ours are:

  • No experience needed. Most of our models started from zero.
  • No investment from you. We work only for a percentage of your income and pay for advertising and the team ourselves.
  • Shooting to a plan takes about one day a week. At the start you need to be in touch with the team more often.
  • Anonymity: geo blocking for unwanted countries and no promotion channels you are not comfortable with. More in our article on anonymity on OnlyFans.
  • You can end the partnership with 30 days notice. The profile stays yours.

How to Become an OnlyFans Model: 4 Steps

1. Application. Name, age, country, contact. A photo is optional, but it speeds up the review.

2. A conversation. We reply within an hour: we explain how everything works, answer your questions and discuss terms.

3. Registration and profile. If the terms suit both sides, we help you register and set up your page. The process is described step by step in our registration guide.

4. First shoot and launch. The team puts together a content plan, you shoot, the page goes live.

Before agreeing to work with any agency, read about a real court case in which an agency took away a model's access to her money and content. It is covered in our article on how to choose an agency without getting scammed.
